On 29 September 2026, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Siwaret Arikit, Director of the Rice Science Center, welcomed Assoc. Prof. Dr. Wisanu Attawanich, Vice President for Research, together with Asst. Prof. Dr. Parichat Promchote and Assoc. Prof. Dr. Sudathip Sae-tan, Assistant Vice Presidents for Research, and Asst. Prof. Dr. Sukanya Rattanatubtimthong, Assistant President for Research, Kamphaeng Saen Campus, and team, who visited the Rice Science Center, Kasetsart University, Kamphaeng Saen Campus.
This visit is part of the strategic research discussion meeting and research station visit at Kasetsart University, Kamphaeng Saen Campus, held to hear the strengths, potential, direction and research needs of each unit, gather information for drafting the university's research strategy, and find key research topics and opportunities to integrate cooperation among units.
On this occasion, the executives visited the DNA Technology Laboratory, the Laboratory for Analyzing the DNA Identity of Thai Rice for Export, the tissue culture laboratory, the laboratory of the Plant Biotechnology and Precision Agriculture Innovation Research Team, NSTDA, and the experimental greenhouses, to learn about operations, capability and the readiness of research infrastructure, from the laboratory level to testing and developing plants under greenhouse conditions.
This visit reflects the potential of the Rice Science Center, Kasetsart University, in integrating knowledge in genetics, biotechnology, tissue culture and precision agriculture to support rice research and variety development, create agricultural innovation, and build on knowledge and technology for real use, leading to raising rice and agricultural research so it answers the country's sustainable development needs.
