On 23 May 2026, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Siwaret Arikit, Director of the Rice Science Center, together with the center's research team, welcomed a study group from the project Support of Agroecological Transformation Processes in India (SuATI) under the German international cooperation organization (GIZ), Germany, who visited to study and exchange knowledge on rice growing technology and innovation at the Rice Science Center, Kasetsart University, Kamphaeng Saen Campus.
The study group visited the scientific laboratories, rice research and technology, the joint research plots with the International Rice Research Institute (IRRI), the greenhouse gas sampling test plots in rice paddies of Dr. Jonaliza L. Siangliw of the National Science and Technology Development Agency (NSTDA), and the Rainbow Rice growing plots at the Thai Rice Ecosystem Learning Center.
The group also exchanged views on developing environmentally friendly rice production systems, applying modern technology and innovation to raise production efficiency, and ways to reduce impacts on climate change, aiming at sustainable agricultural development at community and international levels.
The Rice Science Center presented research and innovation focused on raising rice production quality, developing rice varieties suited to changing environments, and managing modern agricultural knowledge, to build food security and strengthen farmers' capability in the future.
The purpose of this study visit is to exchange knowledge on rice development, agricultural technology and sustainable agricultural management approaches, to further strengthen agricultural capability and the development of rice production ecosystems at the international level.
